Bolognese (Meat Sauce Spaghetti)

A meat sauce spaghetti with plenty of fresh shiitake mushrooms.

Ingredients: Serves 4 or more

Ground meat
a small amount
a small amount
Red wine
2 tablespoons
White flour
1 tablespoon
Minced onion
1 onion's worth
Minced garlic
2 cloves
Fresh shiitake mushrooms
150g (should appear the same amount as the meat, but should be half the weight)
Canned tomatoes
2 cans
Natural salt
1-2 teaspoons
1 tablespoon
Bay leaves
Soup stock cube
Salt and pepper
to taste
to taste
to taste
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Balsamic vinegar to finish (optional)
as desired
Grated cheese
as desired


1. Mince the vegetables and mushrooms.
2. Heat oil in a thick pan with the garlic.
3. Once the garlic becomes fragrant, add the ground meat and cook over high heat. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.
4. After the flour is evenly combined with the meat, add the red wine. Cook off the alcohol, then add the onions and mushrooms and continue cooking.
5. Add the canned tomatoes, soup stock, salt, bay leaf, basil, and oregano and simmer for 30 minutes.
6. Add the honey and simmer for another 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. For the finishing touch, drizzle on balsamic vinegar and it's complete.
8. Use plenty of sauce on the pasta. And don't forget the grated cheese.
9. If you have any leftover sauce, freeze it. It can be used in a number of ways.
10. After mixing in the pasta, depending on the type of canned tomatoes, it might taste thin. Use salt to adjust the flavor to your liking.

Story Behind this Recipe

My family requested pasta with tomato sauce. I thought it'd be delicious with plenty of fresh shiitake mushrooms. I posted it since it came out delicious.
