Sweet & Savory Fried Mackerel

For crispy and fluffy fried mackerel that's seasoned with a sweet-savory coating. Serve with rice!

Ingredients: 4 servings

Mackerel fillet
2 fillets
★Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
★ Sake
1 tablespoon
★ Mirin
1 tablespoon
★ Sugar
1 tablespoon
★Ginger (grated)
2 teaspoons
as needed
Oil for deep frying
as needed


1. Remove fish bones and slice on a diagonal into about 2 cm thickness.
2. Mix all ★ ingredients and leave for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
3. Drain the Step 2 mackerels a little, and lightly sprinkle with the katakuriko.
4. Heat oil in a frying over medium heat, fry the mackerel pieces, and it's done.
