California Rolls with Imitation Crab Flakes

I made crab stick flakes and mixed them with some mayonnaise to create a new version of the California Roll that is popular in North America.


Sushi rice / white rice
120-140 g / 1 roll
Nori seaweed cut in half
3 sheets
1/2 (6 slices)
Imitation crab sticks
3 sticks (90 g)
1 1/2 tablespoons (about 27 g)
*Ratio of crab sticks to mayonnaise
100 g of crab sticks to 30 g of mayonnaise
Others - sesame seeds, cucumber, etc.
Sushi rolling mat lined with plastic wrap
Tightly wrung out damp towel


1. Slice the avocado. Shred the crab sticks into flakes and mix together with the mayonnaise.
2. Please refer to Recipe ID: 1263403 for instructions on how to wrap up a California Roll.
3. Place plastic wrap on top of the sushi rolling mat, then top the plastic wrap with the nori sheets.
4. Spread the rice on top of the nori sheets, then flip it over. Arrange the avocado on top of the nori.
5. Spread out the mayonnaise and flake mixture over the avocado, then roll up the sushi.
