Butterflied Sardine with Zesty Grated Daikon Radish and Ponzu

Enjoy the butterflied sardine with zesty grated daikon and soy sauce or ponzu!

Ingredients

Butterflied sardines
6-8 fillets
Plain flour
about 3 tablespoons
Grated daikon radish
for garnish
Green onions
for garnish
Soy sauce, ponzu, or dashi soy sauce
as needed

Steps

1. Grate the daikon radish and set it aside. Finely chop the green onions.
2. Coat the sardine with plain flour right before cooking. Heat the generous amount of vegetable oil in a skillet and pan-fry until crunchy and golden brown.
3. Transfer to a serving dish, top it with grated daikon radish and green onions and it is done. Drizzle on some soy sauce, dashi soy sauce, or ponzu and enjoy!
