Spicy Ponzu Hot Pot with Gyoza

This is a hot pot which contains dumplings and vegetables with the ponzu broth. Hot sesame oil makes the dish a bit spicy and delicious.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Gyoza dumplings (frozen or homemade)
10 or more (as much as you prefer)
Chinese cabbage
Japanese leek
Enoki mushrooms
1 packet
Shimeji mushrooms
1/2 bag
1 block
700 ml
☆ Ponzu
150 ml
☆Dashi stock granules (bonito based)
2 teaspoons
☆ Ra-yu
1 teaspoon


1. Cut the vegetables and tofu in suitable sizes.
2. Pour the ☆ ingredients into a pot and boil. Add the ingredients starting with the ones that take longer to cook (add the gyoza at the end).
3. Cover with a lid and heat on medium. When all has cooked well, it is done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to eat a lot of gyoza, so l put them in a hot pot. Instead of using dumpling sauce, the broth is a ponzu and ra-yu based. Add lots of vegetables.
