Italian Cuisine con Chikuwa

Italian Cuisine con Chikuwa

I know that the title sounds like a joke.
But really, it's so well-flavored and goes brilliantly with rice.

Ingredients: 3 to 4 servings

1 bag (includes 4)
1 large
Olive oil
Modest amount
●Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
●Soup stock granules
1/3 teaspoon
●Krazy Salt or salt and pepper
Modest amount
Grated cheese
As needed
Modest amount

1. Make cuts into the chikuwa.
2. Make criss-cross cuts like this. This makes it look somehow like calamari. Chop into bite-sizes.
3. Spread olive oil in a pan, and saute the chikuwa. You can brown them by pressing down with a spatula.
4. Remove the chikuwa. Add a modest amount of oil into the pan, and sauté the thinly sliced onions.
5. When the onions are soft, put the chikuwa back into the pan. Season with ● condiments.
6. Dish it up, and top with grated cheese and parsley to serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I used chikuwa instead of calamari, the texture was actually quite similar and was also tasty.
