Carved Carrot Maple Leaf (for Garnish)

Carved Carrot Maple Leaf (for Garnish)

These can be made without a cookie cutter. Why don't you top mixed rice or chirashi sushi with seasonally themed garnishes?

Ingredients

Carrot
Around 2 cm slice
A leaflet or photo of a maple leaf

Steps

1. Prepare a leaflet or photo of a maple leaf the size and shape you like. This time, I used a leaflet from a sushi shop.
2. Cut out the leaf and lay it on top of the carrot slice.
3. Cut around the cut-out with a knife. *Watch out for your fingers.
4. Turn Step 3 on its side and slice to your desired thickness.
5. Here, I sake-steamed the carrot leaves with salmon (Recipe ID: 991108). Looks like fall.

Story Behind this Recipe

I used my "Carved Carrot Flower" Recipe ID: 1062116 as reference.
