[Farmhouse Recipe] Chinese-Style Chilled Steamed Eggplants

Steamed eggplant in the microwave, pour on some sauce and chill. This 10-minute prep Chinese-style dish really whets the appetite.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Eggplants (small Japanese type)
"A" ingredients:
Soy sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
Chinese red chili pepper oil
a small amount
Minced leek
as needed


1. Make a cut into the stem end of the eggplants, wrap each in plastic wrap and heat in a 500W microwave for 5-6 minutes.
2. Slice the eggplants into 8 pieces lengthwise, and marinate with "A" while still hot. Let cool in the fridge.
