Peel the apple, and cut into 4 pieces lengthwise. Cut into about 5-mm thick slices. Add the apple, sugar, and butter into the silicone steamer.
Cover with a lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds at 600 W. Leave it for 2 minutes to let it steam. Set aside 1/2 of the simmered apple for the topping.
Add the pancake mix, sugar, milk, and vegetable oil into a bowl, and mix with a whisk.
Add the remaining simmered apple from the silicone steamer and 1 tablespoon of the syrup into the Step 3 batter, and mix with a spatula.
If there is some syrup left in the silicone steamer, wipe off with a paper towel, and grease with 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
Pour the Step 4 batter into the Step 5 steamer, and top with the simmered apple which was set aside.
Cover with the lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 40 seconds, and let it steam for 3 minutes. If it's not cooked through, please increase the cooking time.
I uploaded many different recipes made with simmered apples.
"Simmered Apple in Lekue Silicone Steamer" (Recipe ID: 1323109)
Story Behind this Recipe
I tried making steamed cake using simmered apple slices.
Please adjust the microwaving time while checking if it's cooked properly. When you warm it up in Lekue silicone steamer, it should be perfect about 10 seconds after you startsee steam pouring out of the spaces between the lids and the base.
