Our Family Recipe For Pacific Saury Kabayaki

Our Family Recipe For Pacific Saury Kabayaki

Our family's kabayaki sauce uses this ratio. 1 fish per person is never enough! I always make extra.

Ingredients: 2 to 3 servings

Pacific saury
3 whole fish
Flour
as needed
●Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
●Mirin
1 tablespoon
●Sugar
1 tablespoon
●Sake
1 tablespoon
●Water
1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds
To taste

Steps

1. Filet the fish and remove the small bones (if they bother you). Cut each filet into 3 pieces. Combine the ingredients marked ● .
2. Dust each piece of fish with flour (use a tea strainer) and pan fry in a heated frying pan in oil, starting from the skin side.
3. When both sides of the fish pieces are browned, add the combined ● ingredients.
4. Simmer while coating the fish with the sauce as it reduces. Sprinkle sesame seeds and it's done.
5. It's delicious as a rice bowl as well.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made this for the first time when my husband said he wanted to eat kabayaki.
