Umeshu Jello - A Cocktail You Can Eat

Umeshu Jello - A Cocktail You Can Eat

I made this several times and settled on this umeshu jello with just the right amount of wine, the right firmness, and the right sweetness! It takes only 10 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients: 4 servings

100 ml
● Water
300 ml
● Sugar
3 tablespoons
○ Gelatin
5 g
○ Water
50 ml
Plums from the umeshu (optional)

1. Put the ○ ingredients in a small dish and sprinkle in the gelatin. Lightly stir to prevent lumps.
2. In a sauce pan, heat the ● ingredients until the sugar dissolves. (The temperature should be 50-60℃, it doesn't have to be boiling).
3. Remove from heat, add the gelatin from Step 1, dissolve the gelatin, then add the umeshu.
4. Drop one plum in each cup, then pour in equal quantities of the liquid from Step 3 among the cups. Once the liquid cools, chill in the refrigerator until it sets.

Story Behind this Recipe

Our family has dessert regularly, but we don't drink regularly.
Since I thought it would be nice to have a handy way of enjoying umeshu, I decided to make it into a jello.
