Green Peppers Stir Fried with Mentsuyu Butter and Lots of Bonito Flakes

Green Peppers Stir Fried with Mentsuyu Butter and Lots of Bonito Flakes

By stir-frying green peppers in butter, the bitterness mellows out.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Green bell peppers
2 to 3
Butter (or margarine)
1 heaping teaspoon
Mentsuyu
1 teaspoon
Bonito flakes
1/2 small packet

Steps

1. Cut the peppers in half lengthwise and take out the seeds. Slice into .5 cm thick.
2. Heat butter in a pan and stir-fry the sliced peppers.
3. When the peppers are cooked through, add the mentsuyu sauce and mix. Add the bonitor flakes, stir fry briefly and it's done.
4. Here's one user, "Yoyone," who added red bell peppers.
5. Another person added some bamboo shoot.
6. Adding shiitake mushrooms looks delicious as well.
7. Here's one with ham and corn.

Story Behind this Recipe

I love the combination of mentsuyu sauce and butter, and use it in various dishes.
