Colorful Rice Balls with Edamame and Red Shiso

Colorful Rice Balls with Edamame and Red Shiso

These beautifully colored rice balls are made with edamame and red shiso leaves (yukari). I recommend these for bento, since they're quite easy despite their great presentation.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Edamame
1 bag
Seasoning with red shiso leaves (yukari, etc.)
1 tablespoon
Cooked rice
from 2 rice cooker cups (360 ml) of raw rice

Steps

1. Boil the edamame is salted water. Remove from the shells. Here are some tips on boiling them - Recipe ID: 1188806
2. Add the edamame from Step 1 into the cooked rice. Stir in the red shiso and then form into rice balls.

Story Behind this Recipe

I combined my husband's favorite shiso rice seasoning with edamame.
