Salt (when there's not enough sodium in the dashi)
a small amount
Enough for 1 rice cooker cup after shiro dashi is added
Wash the rice and then let it sit for 30 minutes in a strainer.
Put the rice and the shiro dashi in the rice cooker container, and then fill up with water to the 1 cup line. Taste and if there is not enough salt, add more.
Add the sakura shrimp and stir it lightly. Turn on the rice cooker. Since this is rice cooked with other things, after preparing everything, it should be cooked right away.
Story Behind this Recipe
There was a time when we had a lot of sakura shrimp in our home, so I came up with this seasoned rice recipe.
You don't have to let the rice sit for 30 minutes after washing. It's fine to cook it right away. Since the flavor of the shiro dashi varies according to what you use, taste it and adjust the saltiness accordingly.
