Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich with Prawn and Avocado

I ate a banh mi sandwich from a popular shop and I fell in love with it!
Make this sandwich with avocado, prawns and pickled salad (marinated daikon and carrot)...

Ingredients: 2 servings

French bread (chewy French bread with some rice flour, if available)
2 small

●Fish sauce
1 teaspoon
a few drops
●Salt and pepper
a small amount
Fresh coriander
as needed
Butter or margarine
as needed
Pickled salad (easy-to-make amount)
5 cm (250 g)
1 small (80 g)
Fish sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Garlic (grated)
1/2 clove
Takanotsume (seeded and sliced into rounds)


1. Make the namasu salad. Cut the daikon into 4-5 cm length, 5 mm width sticks. Cut the carrot into slightly thinner sticks than the daikon.
2. Put the daikon and carrot into a bowl, sprinkle with salt (not listed), lightly mix with your hands, and leave for about 10 minutes. Squeeze out excess water, add all the seasoning ingredients, and mix altogether.
3. Boil the prawns, cut the avocado into 1 cm cubes, add the ● ingredients, and mix together.
4. Slice the bread lengthwise and spread the inside with butter. Fill the sandwich with the ingredients from Step 2 and Step 3 as well as the fresh coriander.
5. The fillings will drop out when you bite into the sandwich, so wrap it in a paper napkin to eat.
