Easy Italian at Home: Squid with Tomatoes

You can make a delicious dish like this using familiar ingredients.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Garlic (finely chopped)
1 to 3 teaspoons (to taste)
Olive oil
2 teaspoons
Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
1 tablespoon
Basil or parsley (optional, as a garnish)
To taste


1. Divide the body and the tentacles of the squid. Take out the gut and bone. Cut the pointy tips off the legs. Drain well, and cut the body into 5-6 mm slices.
2. Dice the tomato to 1 cm, skin and all. Finely chop the garlic. You could use tubed garlic.
3. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Saute the squid. When it turns white, add garlic, and stir until fragrant.
4. Add the tomato. When the tomato starts to lose its shape, add soy sauce. Cook while evaporating the liquid in the pan. Add butter, mix together, and it's done.
