Cheery Milky Way Jello for Tanabata

This is a fun yogurt jello that captures the spirit of Tanabata, the Japanese Star Festival on 7/7. You can make this easily in the microwave, and it is really delicious.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Yogurt Jelly:
200 ml
150 ml
50 g
5 g
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Night Sky Jelly
Shaved ice syrup (Blue Hawaii)
2 tablespoons
150 ml
3 g
Whipped cream, cherries, Mikan oranges、 etc.
As desired


1. Place the gelatin into a microwave-safe container, and soak in 2 tablespoons of water.
2. Add sugar and milk to Step 1 and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at 500W for 2 minutes to dissolve the gelatin.
3. Add yogurt and lemon juice to Step 2.
4. Pour into molds, and chill to solidify.
5. <Night Sky Jelly> Soak the gelatin in 1 tablespoon of water in a microwave safe container. Add 50 ml water and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave for 1 minute at 500W.
6. Add the Blue Hawaii to 100 ml of water and mix. Pour on top of Step 4 after it has cooled, and chill to solidify.
7. Garnish with whipped cream, silver dragee, and cherries, and it is done. It is really delicious!
8. Orihime (cherry) and Hikoboshi (mikan) are facing each other on the Milky Way (cream).

When I was a kid, a similar jello was served at school lunch. That day, I was having a crummy day, so I remember that it made me really happy.
