Chicken Spare Ribs Simmered in Ume Jam

Chicken Spare Ribs Simmered in Ume Jam

This dish uses the leftover ume jam I had when making juice. It's refreshing and goes well with rice, beer, or wine.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Chicken spare ribs
250 g
Ume jam
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon

1. Warm the frying pan on meadium heat. Put in the chicken and crushed garlic. Cook until the chicken is browned.
2. Add the jam, soy sauce, and sake and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Flip the chicken over halfway through.
3. To finish, mix the chicken with the sauce while cooking on medium-low heat.

Story Behind this Recipe

I usually simmer spare ribs in marmalade, but since I was making my yearly ume juice, I had a lot of ume jam leftover. So instead of using marmalade, I used ume jam. They came out refreshing and delicious.
