Snowball Cookies with Vegetable Oil

These snowball cookies can be baked up in 30 minutes.
Even without using expensive almond powder, enjoy these crisp and crumbly cookies. They're addictive!

Ingredients: about fifty 3 cm diameter cookies

Cake flour
130 g
Vegetable oil
65 g
50 g
Cornstarch (or katakuriko)
40 g
Powdered sugar
as needed
Salt (optional)
a pinch


1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 170℃.
2. Combine the dry ingredients except for the powdered sugar in a bowl, and mix with a whisk to eliminate any lumps. Add the vegetable oil, and mix with your hands.
3. Once it comes together, shape the cookies into 2 cm diameter balls.
4. Bake for 20 minutes at 170℃. Once they cool, coat them in powdered sugar and they're done.

I love snowball cookies. Since almond powder is pricey, I left it out and came up with this easy recipe using vegetable oil.
