Qixi Star Festival: Spicy Hot Somen Noodles with Prawns

I combine ready-made mentsuyu noodle sauce and gochujang for a Korean version.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Somen noodles
4 bundles
Korean-style Sauce
Water
300 ml
Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)
4 tablespoons
Sesame oil
2 tablespoons
Toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons
Gochujang
2 teaspoons
Vinegar
2 teaspoons
Grated garlic
To taste
Toppings
Steamed prawns

Daikon radish sprouts
1 packet
Yellow bell pepper
To garnish

Steps

1. Combine the sauce ingredients and chill in the fridge.
2. Cook the somen noodles and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with the toppings. Cut the yellow pepper into stars. Pour over the cold noodle sauce and serve.

I received gochujang and used it for this somen dish as I heard that people eat somen noodles in Korea for the Qixi festival.
