Mapo Tomato and Okra

I tried adding okra in mapo tomato! It thickens even without katakuriko!!

Ingredients: 2 to 3 servings

2 medium
Ground pork
100 g
Japanese leek
Grated garlic
1/2 clove
Grated ginger
3 cm from a tube
☆ Water
100 ml
☆ Chicken soup stock granules
1 teaspoon
☆ Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
☆ Tianmianjiang
1 tablespoon
☆ Mirin
1 tablespoon
☆ Sake
1 tablespoon
☆ Sugar
a pinch
Sesame seed oil
as needed


1. Chop the Japanese leek and garlic finely. Roughly dice the tomatoes. Combine the ☆ seasonings.
2. Rub the okra on a cutting board with salt to remove hair. Chop into slices about 5 mm thick.
3. Heat some sesame oil in a frying pan. Add the Japanese leek, garlic and ginger and stir fry until fragrant.
4. Cook the ground meat until browned and crumbly.
5. Add the ☆ ingredients, along with the tomatoes and okra. Simmer until the liquid is reduced to your liking. Adjust the flavor with soy sauce and it's done!

Story Behind this Recipe

I used pork for the mapo because it works well with tomato. It was delicious after making it thick with okra, so I decided to post this recipe.
