Finely julienne the pork and put into a bowl. Add the A) ingredients and massage and mix with your hands.
Cut the potatoes into 3-5 mm julienne or matchsticks. Put in a bowl of water for about 5 minutes. This way, they'll be crispy and crunchy when you stir fry them.
Cut the peppers into 2 mm julienne too.
Stir-fry the pork while separating it in a frying pan.
When the pork is cooked, add the potatoes and bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
Add the B) seasoning ingredients of sake, sugar and soy sauce and stir-fry. Add a little black pepper and a drizzle of sesame oil to finish and mix together. Done!
Story Behind this Recipe
I wanted to eat crispy crunchy potatoes so I prepared a Chinese-style (chinjao rosu) stir fry. It's an easy dish you can make with everyday ingredients.
The katakuriko powder covering the beef will start to thicken up once you mix in the flavoring ingredients so if you stir fry for too long it will get watery. Cook just enough to thicken the sauce slightly and to blend the flavors.
