Peanut Chutney

Peanut Chutney

The South Indian breakfast food "idli" goes best with Sambal or coconut chutney. Since it's breakfast, I guess you don't really have to worry about calories.

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

Peanuts (fresh, with shells)
1 cup
Chili pepper (dried)
2-4 (to taste)
Garlic (fresh, peeled)
1-2 cloves
Cumin seeds
1 teaspoon
to taste
1 tablespoon
*Red chili pepper
*Mustard seeds
1/4 teaspoon
*Cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon

1. Cook the peanuts and chili peppers in a frying pan. You can cook them with oil if you want. Once they become fragrant, they're done.
2. Place the peanuts, garlic, cumin seeds, salt, and water into a blender and blend until smooth.
3. You'll probably need more water than you think. Once it becomes thick and creamy, it's done.
4. Here is a variation: Heat the * ingredients in a frying pan. Add the chutney.
5. It's a delicious chutney.
6. Done. Serve with some idli!
