Pork Spare Ribs with Barbecue Sauce

Pork Spare Ribs with Barbecue Sauce

Prepare the ribs the night before. Then all you need to do is to brown them to get tender spare ribs. Kids love the sweet and rather salty sauce.

Ingredients: one 2 kg spare rib mass

Soy sauce
120 ml (8 tablespoons
100 g (7 tablespoons)
Honey (or anything that is sweet)
60 g (4 tablespoons)
Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
30 ml (2 tablespoons)
Wine (red or white)
30 ml (2 tablespoons)
Garlic (finely chopped)
3 cloves
Ginger, finely chopped
about the same amount as the garlic
Black pepper
a small amount
Herbs of your choice
a small amount

1. Steam the pork in a steamer for 2 hours.
2. After the pork has cooled, place in a large plastic bag, mix and add all of the recipe sauce ingredients, and chill in the fridge for at least half a day for the flavors to settle.
3. It is done once it browns in an oven over 390°F/200°C. You could also grill this on a BBQ grill or bake in an Dutch oven.
4. It's delicious to boil down the leftover sauce.
