After the pork has cooled, place in a large plastic bag, mix and add all of the recipe sauce ingredients, and chill in the fridge for at least half a day for the flavors to settle.
It is done once it browns in an oven over 390°F/200°C. You could also grill this on a BBQ grill or bake in an Dutch oven.
It's delicious to boil down the leftover sauce.
Story Behind this Recipe
This is a simple recipe that I can make without fail in my family's oven, stone oven, or Dutch oven the day before.
You cook the meat through the day before in the steam cooker, so you do not have to worry if the thick meat has cooked through. Prepping the day before will transform this into tender and delicious meat. You can use brown sugar or maple syrup in place of the honey for a more intense flavor.
