Butter Stir-Fried Chikuwa with Shio-Konbu

Butter Stir-Fried Chikuwa with Shio-Konbu

Flavoring with nothing but salt kelp. It's quick and easy. You can cook this in 3 minutes or so, but the taste is great! Salt kelp and butter are a great match.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Chikuwa
2
Japanese leek
1/2
Shio-kombu
10 g
Butter
10 g
Sliced red chili pepper
1
Pepper
a small amount

Steps

1. Cut the chikuwa and leek diagonally.
2. Heat the butter in a frying pan, add the sliced red chili peppers and leek, then stir-fry. Add the chikuwa, and continue stir-frying.
3. Next add the shio-konbu, sprinkle with pepper, and stir-fry for a little more.
4. Serve on a plate. This dish is great for bento or as a drinking appetizer.

Story Behind this Recipe

I tried flavoring with shio-konbu instead of usual butter or soy sauce. This flavor became addictive!
