Delicious Onion Dressing That Can Be Stored

Delicious Onion Dressing That Can Be Stored

I use this dressing on vegetables as well as as a sauce for low-fat fish and meat. Since it's heated through there's no harsh raw onion taste, and small children can eat it too!

New harvest sweet onion (grated)
1 large
★ Sugar
1 teaspoon
★ Sake
50 ml
★ Mirin
50 ml
★ Soy sauce
75 ml
◆ Vinegar (to taste, less is ok)
50 ml
◆ Vegetable oil
75 ml
◆ Pepper
To taste
I use this as a dipping sauce for this recipe, Pork Karaage

1. Make the onion ready.
2. Grate the onion. You can also use a food processor to blitz it until it's in a liquid state.
3. Put the grated onion and the ★ ingredients in a pan, and bring to a boil. Skim off the scum that comes to the surface carefully.
4. After all the scum is removed, simmer for 2 minutes. If you're using a regular onion, simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
5. Turn off the heat, and add the ◆ ingredients (vinegar, oil, pepper) and mix well to finish!
6. Transfer to a closed container. It keeps in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks!
