Pork Belly and Bok Choy Stir-fry in Thickened Sauce

Pork Belly and Bok Choy Stir-fry in Thickened Sauce

This is a quick and easy way to make a Chinese-inspired dish.
The thick, salty sauce goes well with rice.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Thinly sliced pork belly
180 g
Bok choy
2 heads
Carrot
1/4 - 1/2
Scallion
1/2
Garlic
1/2 clove
Salt Sauce:
Sake
1 tablespoon
Chicken stock granules
1.5 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Katakuriko
2 teaspoons
Pepper
a small amount
Water
150ml

Steps

1. Finely chop the scallion and garlic. Cut bok choy and pork belly into bite size pieces. Slice the carrot into rectangles.
2. Mix ingredients for the salty sauce.
3. Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan and stir fry the scallion and garlic. When it's aromatic, add pork.
4. Add bok choy and carrot in the pan, and stir fry.
5. When cooked, stir in the salty sauce and cook until thickened.
6. You can make stir fried noodles using this recipe. I added bean sprouts and increased the flavour of the sauce.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had pork belly and bok choy on hand. I didn't go shopping on that day and created this recipe to cook a dish with ingredients I had.
