Peel the potato and shred it using a slicer or mandoline. Cut the bacon into 4 pieces.
Mix the cut potato with the ＊ ingredients - curry powder, salt, pepper, and grated cheese.
Heat an electric griddle to 200°C, spread the potato on it in 2 portions, and put the bacon slices in any empty spaces.
When the bacone is cooked, transfer it on top of the potato, and add parsley in the middle.
When the bottom of the potato is browned, flip the 2 pieces over and cook the other side too.
When it's cooked through, flip over again and it's done.
Sprinkle with some black pepper if you like to make it more spicy.
Story Behind this Recipe
This is a variation on Recipe ID: 531686 "Hashed Potatoes With Potatoes Only". It's a spicy version of hashed potatoes that goes well with beer.
It's best to shred the potato with a slicer or mandoline, since more starch will come out of it and it will stick together better. Don't remove any moisture that comes out of the potatoes. If you don't like very spicy food, halve the amount of curry powder. You can make this in a frying pan too rather than on a griddle.
