Easy to Make and Very Soft Spare Rib Stew

Easy to Make and Very Soft Spare Rib Stew

The ribs get very tender even though all you use is one pot instead of a pressure cooker.
Even though they're pork spare ribs, they are meltingly tender like a long-simmered beef stew!

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Pork spare ribs
500 g
1 long one
Demi-glace sauce
1 can
Tomato ketchup
4 tablespoons
Soup stock cube
Wine (either red or white on hand)
50 ml
400 ml
Vegetable oil
as needed
Salt and pepper
to taste

1. Cut the carrot into rolling slices. Cut the onion into wedges.
2. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on spare ribs.
3. Lightly coat a pan with oil, and cook the spare ribs until brown.
4. Add the cut vegetables and stir fry.
5. When the vegetables are coated with oil, add wine, water and demi-glace sauce.
6. Bring it to a boil. Add a soup stock cube and tomato ketchup, then simmer. Skim off the scum.
7. Simmer over low heat for about 2 hours. Stir every 15 minutes to prevent burning. Set a kitchen timer to alert yourself.
8. It's done. The meat will easily come off from the bone.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had some leftover spare ribs from a barbecue...I didn't want to oven-roast them yet again, so I created this recipe.
