My Mother's Chinjao Rosu with Green Pepper

Even my father and my husband who don't like green peppers eat up this dish! This is a simple Chinjao Rosu with nothing but green peppers and beef, which my mother has been cooking since long ago.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Beef
200 g
Green peppers
4-6
Seasoning for the beef:
Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
Sake
1/2 tablespoon
Katakuriko
2 teaspoons
Seasoning ingredients:
Soy sauce
1 heaped tablespoon
Sake
2 tablespoons
Salt
1 scant teaspoon
Sugar
1 teaspoon

Steps

1. Julienne the peppers. Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. (I added yellow bell peppers, but I usually use only green peppers.)
2. Season the beef with ★ ingredients.
3. Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry Step 2 beef, and remove from the pan.
4. Lightly wipe the pan with a paper towel, add oil, and stir-fry the green peppers.
5. Return the beef to the pan, and continue stir-frying with the green peppers.
6. Add ◎ seasonings, toss the ingredients to coat well, then it's done!

Story Behind this Recipe

My mother has been cooking this dish since I was a child. Everybody in my family, including my father who doesn't like vegetables, loves it.
I didn't realize that you are supposed to add bamboo shoot to Chinjao Rosu until I became an adult...
