Homemade Hashed Beef Stew

You can make an authentic tasting hashed beef stew using ingredients in your house without using commercial roux! Please give it a try.


300 g
1 large
Mushrooms (optional)
1 can
30 g
4 tablespoons
★ Red wine
50 ml
★ Canned tomatoes
1 can
★ Ketchup and Japanese Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons
★ Soup stock granules
2 tablespoons
★ Sugar
1 teaspoon
★ Milk and water
50 ml each
★ Bay leaves
2~3 leaves


1. Prepare the ingredients. Slice the onion thinly.
2. Melt the butter in a pan, and saute the onion until soft. Add the beef and continue sauteing.
3. When the beef is cooked, add the flour and saute for another 3 minutes, taking care not to let it burn.
4. Add all the ★ ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes and it's done! Take the bay leaves out before serving.
5. Add some green peas on top if you like.
