Cheese & Bacon Pão de Queijo

Cheese & Bacon Pão de Queijo

This is a chewy pão de queijo made with mochi rice flour. I added homemade bacon, which made it really tasty. You can modify it in lots of different ways.

Mochiko (or shiratamako)
150 g
a small amount (to taste)
50 ml~
Egg (S)
Vegetable oil
1 tablespoon
Grated cheese
30 g
A: Processed cheese
as needed (to taste)
B: Bacon
as needed (to taste)

1. Knead the shiratama flour well, while adding the milk little by little. Keep kneading while adding the beaten egg. Lastly, add the oil and knead well. Divide the mixture into two.
2. Into one half (A), add the grated cheese and knead well. Add the cubed cheese and bring together into a ball.
3. Into the other half (B), add the bacon and coarsely ground pepper, and knead well.
4. Form into balls about the size of a ping-pong ball. Bake for about 20 minutes in a 180℃ oven.
5. Once baked, put them into a plastic bag while they are still hot, and leave it in the sealed bag until cooled. The steam will make them chewy as they cool down.
