Delicious, Easy, Soft and Juicy Chicken Nanban

My hubby loves this dish. Enjoy it with my family's delicious tartar sauce. Serve the chicken with a generous amount of sauce.
My family's method is to stir fry the onion to extract its umami flavour.

Ingredients: 3 servings

Chicken thigh or breast

Salt and pepper
a small amount
Plain cake flour
as needed
Egg

Mayonnaise
2 teaspoons
(A) Vinegar
5 tablespoons
(A) Sugar
4 tablespoons
(A) Soy sauce
5 tablespoons
(A. Doubanjiang
3/4 teaspoon

Steps

1. Remove skin from the chicken, and cut into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Dredge with flour.
2. Add the mayonnaise in the egg. Dip the chicken into the mixture.
3. Deep fry at about 170-180℃ until the meat is cooked.
4. Put the ingredients marked (A) in a pan. Bring them to boil, and dip the fried chicken into the sauce.
5. The best way to serve it is with a generous amount of the tartar sauce (Recipe ID: 1086614). The dish will be high in calories, but forget about that.
6. If you're using chicken breast, marinate the chicken in beaten egg for about 30 minutes, then deep fry. This makes the fried chicken breast moist!
