Miffy's All-Purpose Sesame Sauce

Miffy's All-Purpose Sesame Sauce

A thick sesame sauce with the sweetness of mirin (and no refined sugar added).


Sesame seeds
100 g
100 ml
Soy sauce
30 ml
Spinach with sesame sauce (below)
Cucumber with sesame sauce (below)
Asparagus with sesame sauce (below)
Celery with sesame sauce (below)
Okra with sesame sauce (below)


1. Put the sesame seeds in a food processor.
2. Process until it forms a lump.
3. Put the ground sesame seeds, mirin and soy sauce in a jar, mix well and it's done.
4. To make spinach with sesame sauce: boil the spinach, refresh in cold water, wring out well and mix with the sauce.
5. To make cucumber with sesame sauce: Rub the cucumbers with salt on a cutting board, cut into easy to eat pieces, and mix with the sauce just before serving.
6. To make asparagus with sesame sauce: Cut into thin slices and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Drain well before mixing with the sauce.
7. Celery with sesame sauce: Stir fry with sesame oil and season well with salt and pepper. Add some sauce to taste.
8. Okra with sesame sauce: Boil the okra in salted water, cut into easy to eat pieces, and mix with the sauce. The more you mix, the stickier and more delicious it will become.
