Very Easy Rice Burgers

Very Easy Rice Burgers

These are easy-to-make rice burgers.

Ingredients: 2 burgers

Plain cooked rice
1 rice cooker cup worth (180 ml uncooked)
Sesame oil
To taste
Fillings of your choice 1:
Kimpira (stir-fried burdock root with sesame seeds)
Fillings of your choice 2:
Yakiniku (griddle-cooked meat)

1. Divide the rice into 4 portions, and squeeze tightly into balls. I used mixed-grain rice here.
2. Heat up a frying pan and spread some sesame oil in it. Flatten the rice balls, and pan fry on both sides until crispy and browned.
3. Sandwich a filling of your choice in between the patties and they're done. Here are two different ways of preparing them: 1) Place on some nori seaweed, and top with the burdock root kinpira. 2) Place on a lettuce leaf, and top with king oyster mushrooms and thinly sliced beef stir-fried with yakiniku sauce.
4. Wrap in waxed paper and bring along in a bento.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to recreate the rice burgers served at Mos Burger (a fast food chain in Japan).
