Dough for Chinese Steamed Buns (No Rising Time Necessary)

This is a recipe for the dough to make Chinese steamed buns.
It uses baking powder, eliminating the need for rising time.

Ingredients: makes 6

Cake flour
150 g
Baking powder
10 g
Light brown sugar
1 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon
Water for soy milk
70 ml
Sesame oil
1 teaspoon


1. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix with your hands.
2. When the dough comes together, place it on your work surface and knead well for about 5 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth.
3. Let the dough rest at room temperature for 20-30 minutes, covering it so that it doesn't dry out.
4. Divide the dough into 6 pieces, roll them into a ball, then roll them into flat circles with a rolling pin. Wrap each one around the fillings of your choice.
5. Place in a steamer for 15 minutes, and they're done.
