Add the butter and dried wheat gluten to a frying pan, and turn on the heat (low heat).
Melt the butter and coat the dried wheat gluten with butter.
Once the dried wheat gluten has absorbed all the butter, raise the heat to medium heat and roast them.
Lower the heat again to low heat, and sprinkle evenly with granulated sugar.
Once the granulated sugar has melted, and they have turned golden brown, it's done!
Story Behind this Recipe
I had leftover dried wheat gluten that I had originally bought as baby food. I had to use it up some how!
The butter will evenly distribute if you add both the butter and dried wheat gluten to the frying pan before turning on the heat, rather than melting the butter, and then adding the dried wheat gluten. They will be piping hot when just done, so be careful not to burn yourself, especially when sneaking a taste!
