First make the rice buns. Heat the soy sauce and mirin until it boils, then remove from the heat and add the katakuriko and sesame seeds.
Evenly mix the sauce from Step 1 with slightly firm cooked rice.
Shape the rice buns to whatever size you prefer (use a little water to form them).
Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan and fry the rice buns until crispy.
Combine the chicken patty ingredients in a food processor and blend untilthe vegetables are finely chopped.
Form patties into your desired size, cook in a frying pan, then coat in teriyaki sauce.
Top with lettuce, sliced onions, sunny-side-up eggs, mayonnaise, or other toppings of your choice and serve.
Story Behind this Recipe
Mos Burger's rice burger buns are chewy and they don't fall apart. They aren't just simply rice balls made into patties! This is the result of my trial and error to find an easy-to-eat burger for kids.
Try filling the rice buns with kimpira or anything else! A meat patty coated in Japanese BBQ sauce is delicious!
