Tarte Tatin with Pineapple

Tarte Tatin with Pineapple

I baked the tarte tatin with pineapples.
This tarte tatin is also delicious as an apple tarte tatin.

Ingredients: 18cm round glass mould with non removable bottom

40 g
1 tablespoon
Pineapple (canned)
4 slices
60 g
20 g
Pineapple syrup (canned)
30 g
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
Cake flour
100 g
Baking powder
1 teaspoon

1. ■Caramel■ Put the sugar and water in a heatproof cake glassware, and mix.
2. Put in a microwave at 500 W for about 3 minutes first and check. Keep checking as you microwave and remove when it turns light brown. Let it cool to set.
3. Remove the moisture from the pineapple and place on the caramel.
4. ■Cake■ Mix the softened margarine well in a bowl, and add sugar. Mix well.
5. Add in the beaten egg little by little as you whisk. Add the pineapple syrup and lemon juice.
6. Put the sifted flour in the bowl. Using a rubber spatula, mix with cutting motions.
7. Pour the mixture on to the pineapple. Flatten the surface of the mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 30-35 minutes.
8. Turn it upside-down onto a serving plate while it is still hot. Otherwise the caramel starts to set and it will be hard to take out from the glassware.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had a lot of canned pineapples at home.
