Baby Scallops with Green Onions and a Salty, Lemon Sauce

Baby Scallops with Green Onions and a Salty, Lemon Sauce

I do enjoy scallops cooked in butter....but this is delicious too. The lemon juice gives it such a refreshing flavor.

Baby scallops
150 g+
★Green onions
1/4 teaspoon (adjust as necessary)
★Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
★Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon
★Cooking sake
1 teaspoon
Lemon juice
to taste
Black pepper (optional)
a dash

1. Note: Since we will be using fresh baby scallops, we need to weigh them since the sizes are all different. This time I used 152 g.
2. Finely slice the green onion. I used long and slightly large green onions this time.
3. Combine the ★ ingredients and mix with the scallops. Leave for 10 minutes.
4. Heat a non-stick frying pan with no oil. Add Step 3, including the liquid, and cook both sides on medium-low.
5. How to not burn the green onion Method 1) Place everything on frying pan safe aluminum foil, cover with a lid and steam.
6. Method 2) Only cook the scallops from Step 3 and add the green onion right before they are done cooking
7. When they have finished cooking, squeeze on some lemon, stir it in, and enjoy! Optionally season with black pepper.

Story Behind this Recipe

My husband likes the occasional scallop dish fried with salt and green onion, so I have tried many times to think of simple and refreshing ingredients that he wouldn't tire of and that my children could eat as well. I settled on this recipe. Everyone in my family also loves grilled fish with lemon.
