Thinly slice the onion, rub with 1 teaspoon salt and leave for 15 minutes. Wash off the salt with water. Squeeze and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
For the pizza sauce, you can either use a store-bought one or a home-made one (I'm going to upload a pizza sauce recipe sometime in the future).
Prick holes all over the basic pizza base (Recipe ID: 1043830) with a fork.
Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce over the base...
Sprinkle the onion, red bell pepper, corn and mushrooms over the top of the pizza and arrange the ham in a circle.
Top with plenty of cheese, and bake for 10-12 minutes at 300℃.
Eat your pizza just out of the oven and savour the thick cheese and crispy base!
Story Behind this Recipe
I think a lot of people place the cured ham on top after the pizza has baked, but I can't be bothered with that, so I bake it with the ham already on. It's strange but the taste of the cured ham remains, without it burning.
Baking your pizza in one go at 300℃ oven is the objective here. If your oven can't go up to 300℃, then you can bake the pizza pie base for 3-4 minutes without letting it burn. Once cooled, add on the ingredients and bake again and it should still crisp up beautifully.
