Potato Mayonnaise and Sesame Chewy Cake

These are chewy potato cakes.
Add extra Japanese mayonnaise if you prefer.


2 medium
1 heaped tablespoon
2 tablespoons
Salt and pepper
A small amount (as much as you like)
Black sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
White sesame seeds
1 tablespoon


1. Peel the potatoes, microwave till soft and mash.
2. Add the mayonnaise, katakuriko, salt and pepper to the potato and mix well.
3. Shape it as you like and fry in a frying pan until brown.
4. Eat it while they are hot.

Story Behind this Recipe

My husband doesn't like potatoes cut in blocks, whether it's in curry or stew. But I love potatoes. Both of us love mayonnaise so I added it and made it like a rice cake and he finished it all in no time.
