Marinated and Deep Fried Mackerel

This is a recipe for marinated and deep fried mackerel with garlic ginger.
It's suitable for a packed lunch, too.

Ingredients: 4 servings

3 (about 6 slices)
☆ Ginger
To taste
☆ Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
☆ Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
☆ Sake
1 tablespoon
To taste
Vegetable oil
To taste


1. Gut, clean, and fillet the fish into 3 slices and cut into 3 pieces (adjust the pieces to the size of the entire fish).
2. Mix all the ☆ ingredients.
3. Put the chopped mackerel into a plastic bag, and gently rub the mixed ingredients from Step 2. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to half a day.
4. Coat each fish with katakuriko and fry both sides under medium low heat. Remove excess oil with kitchen paper and it's done!
