Low Calorie Japanese Fried Chicken Made with Konnyaku

Low Calorie Japanese Fried Chicken Made with Konnyaku

This macrobiotic recipe for "Japanese Fried Chicken-style Konnyaku" is economical, and you won't eat chicken any more!!

2 blocks
Soy sauce, garlic, ginger (for pre-seasoning)
as needed
Flour, water, sesame seeds (for the batter)
as needed

1. Pierce the 2 blocks of konnyaku with cooking chopsticks so that they absorb the flavor easily. This is also a good way to release stress.
2. Tear into bite-sized pieces with your hands, cook in salted boiling water for about 20 minutes (until they become white and plump).
3. Marinate in the pre-seasoning ingredients, lightly heat in a pot to evaporate the liquid before deep-frying.
4. Now you just need to prepare the batter, and deep-fry. Make the batter a little bit thick, and it will make crispy fried konnyaku.

Story Behind this Recipe

I received a lot of organic konnyaku by my mother-in-law the other day. I was thinking what I can make with them, and tried making Japanese fried chicken.

They tasted just like fried chicken!!!
