Boiled Broccoli with Sakura Shrimp and Oyster Sauce - Great in Bentos Too!

Dried sakura shrimp and oyster sauce are a good combination. This is a broccoli dish with a thick Chinese-style sauce! Pack in your bento.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Broccoli
1 head
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Dried sakura shrimp or small shrimp
3 tablespoons
◎ Oyster sauce
2 tablespoons
◎ Mirin
1 tablespoon
◎ Cooking sake
1 teaspoon
◎ Water
2 to 3 tablespoons
Katakuriko slurry
As required

Steps

1. Cut the broccoli into an easy to eat size, boil in salted water to your liking. Remove from pot and drain in a colander, and set aside. Note: Don't forget to include the stalk.
2. Heat sesame oil and shrimp in a pan over medium heat. Once the shrimp start to spit and release their aroma, reduce the heat to low.
3. Add the ◎ ingredients in turn from the top of the ingredients list and stir. Reduce the sauce for about one minute. Add katakuriko dissolved in water to thicken the sauce to your liking.
4. Place the broccoli on a serving plate and cover with the sauce.
