Made with Chinese Cabbage!! Okonomiyaki

Even better than cabbage!! So crisp, my husband loves it Try adding carrots or green peppers as well.

Ingredients: 4~6 pancakes

Chinese cabbage
1/2 head
to taste
1 cup
●Japanese Dashi granules
1 teaspoon
Okonomiyaki sauce
to taste
Bonito flakes
to taste


1. Put the ● ingredients into a bowl and mix. Roughly mince the Chinese cabbage and mix it in. (You may not think there is enough batter to hold the cabbage, but don't worry.)
2. Heat some oil on an electric griddle or in a frying pan and spread several dollops of the mixture from 1 over the surface. Sprinkle these with the pork. Cook over low heat.
3. When the cabbage wilts, turn the pancake over.
4. Cook for 4~5 minutes, and serve on a plate. (Serve with the meat side facing up.) Top with okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to eat okonomiyaki! But, I didn't have any cabbage that day, so I made this okonomiyaki. It was delicious!! This recipe has become a family favorite.
If you don't have okonomiyaki sauce, try serving it topped with ketchup and mayonnaise.
