Maple Cheese and Nuts on Toast

Maple Cheese and Nuts on Toast

This is a toast version of the maple, cheese and nut mochi recipe. It's sweet, salty and aromatic, and oozes maple syrup and soy sauce. I love it!

Ingredients: 1 serving

Sliced bread
1 slice
Butter or margarine (optional)
as needed
● Walnuts and almonds (unsalted)
25 g total
●Soy sauce
1 teaspoon
●Maple syrup
1 tablespoon
Cheese suitable for melting (or cheese of your choice)
5 g - 10 g
as needed

1. Spread a thin layer of butter on the bread (optional). Roughly chop up the nuts.
2. Lightly toast the bread. You can skip this step! Do as you like!
3. Combine the chopped nuts with the ingredients marked ●. Generously top the bread with the nuts and then with the cheese.
4. Place in the toaster oven. It's done when the bread has browned and the cheese has melted! Sprinkle on some cinnamon (mind it doesn't burn!)
5. I used 10 g of cheese on the toast in the top picture.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I was eating maple cheese and nut mochi (Recipe ID: 1006279), I wondered what it would be like on toast. I tried it and it was as tasty as I thought.
