Environmentally-conscious and Cheap Al Dente Pasta

Environmentally-conscious and Cheap Al Dente Pasta

This is an easy (and environmentally conscious) way of cooking pasta without having your water boil over. Spaghetti, macaroni, penne, any pasta is ok.

Ingredients: 1 serving

100 g
1000 ml
1 tablespoon
Timer (to time your cooking)
Keep an eye on it

1. When the water boils, add the salt! Add the pasta!! Stir.
2. Note: Strands of spaghetti usually stick out of the pot when they're placed in, but try your best to submerge them in the water.
3. Boil for the appropriate amount of time + 1 minute...So if the regular boiling time is 8 minutes, turn off the heat, cover with a lid and leave as is for 9 minutes.
4. Time's up! Drain in a colander and it's all done.
5. Try with instant ramen.
6. The previous photo is of a serving of Demae Ramen sold in German supermarkets. It's 69 cents = 85 yen haha.

Story Behind this Recipe

One day when I cooking my pasta as usual, the water boiled over, so I stopped the heat, and then forgot about it and left it like that. But the noodles cooked through.
