Easy Chinsuko (Okinawan Shortbread Cookies)

Makes these easy chinsuko cookies using vegetable oil! These cookies are just too delicious, you won't be able to stop eating them!

Ingredients: 15 (4 cm oval shape) cookies

Cake flour
70 g
30 g
Vegetable oil
30 g


1. In a bowl, combine the vegetable oil and sugar, mix well.
2. Sift the flour into the bowl from Step 1, and fold in the batter.
3. Shape the batter into any shape you like, bake in the oven for 13 minutes at 170℃! And the cookies are done!!!
4. "Salt Chinsuko" Add pinch of coarse salt to the ingredients.
5. Brown Sugar Chinsuko" Use brown sugar instead of white sugar!!!
6. "Matcha Chinsuko" Add 1/2 teaspoon of matcha to the ingredients above!
7. "Black Sesame Seeds Kinako Chinsuko" Use 50 g of cake flour and 20 g of black sesame seed kinako! The cookies will be very fragile just after baking, so be careful!
