Macrobiotic Basic Steamed Bread

This easy steamed macrobiotic bread is made without any refined sugar, eggs, or dairy products. It's a filling snack that's perfect for dieters!

Ingredients: An easy-to-make amount

Cake flour (preferably unbleached)
150 g
Baking powder (preferably aluminum-free)
1 teaspoon
Beet sugar (or non-refined sugar such as cane sugar or maple sugar)
40-60 g
Soy milk
120 ml
Vegetable oil (preferably nut-based)
3 tablespoons


1. Combine the beet sugar, soy milk, and oil. Mix well, then add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix thoroughly, then fill aluminum cups or muffin tins with the batter up to about 80% to the top.
2. Place in a steamer that's steaming vigorously. Steam for about 10 minutes, then they're ready. (The time it takes to steam may depend on the size of your steamer.)
